Your Questions Answered

  • In person! For the most part that is. I highly value face to face connection, and having the safe neutral space of an office for therapy. I will always be an “in person first” therapist. That being said, if virtual sessions are occasionally more convenient for you, we can do that. There also may be times that I request we move to a virtual appointment for things such as illness or inclement weather.

  • First sessions can be individual, or include a family member. It is up to you and your comfort level. We will go over paperwork and the “nitty gritty” and I will likely have some reading material to send with your parent to give them an idea of how I work. From there, we will get to know each other! You can lead, or I can ask questions. We can laugh and tell stories as we gain familiarity or dive straight into the issues and possible solutions. By the end of our first session we will likely have discovered if we are a good fit for working together, and set goals for your counseling experience.

  • You will receive an email from me that will take you to your personal client portal. All your paperwork can be found there and signed electronically. This portal is also where you will find your billing documents in the future.

  • I am out of network with all insurance companies. If you have out of network benefits, and would like to seek reimbursement, I provide a receipt called a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company. These “superbills” autogenerate once a month, and can be found in your client portal. If you prefer them at a different frequency, please ask.

  • I request 48 hours notice for cancellations or my full fee is charged. I have planned for and saved that time for you, and hope you will prioritize our time as well :)

  • Sessions are officially 53 minutes long give or take a few minutes. Most clients start out coming weekly, and then as issues improve, taper off to 2x a month, and then “as needed” from there.
